The resurrection of Jesus, or anastasis is the Christian belief that God raised Jesus after his crucifixion as first of the dead, starting his exalted life as Christ and Lord. In Christian theology, the death and resurrection of Jesus are the most important events, a foundation of the Christian faith, and commemorated by Easter.   I reflect on these themes in my new book, Hope to Die: The Christian Meaning of Death and the Resurrection of the Body. At death, the soul is separated from the body. Jesus, by dying and rising again, opened up the path to reunification. Just as his body and soul were joined once more when he was resurrected. His body was transfigured, glorified.

These are taken from the book of Revelation. (it is also said there is a resurrection of the just and the unjust) However, greater importance regarding resurrection, arises because Revelation also says, “Those who take part in the first resurrection will not be harmed by the second death”.   Why do the first Christians believe that Jesus was raised? What does the sign of Jonah have to do with the resurrection of Jesus? Dr. Pitre looks at the three days and three nights, as well as the conversion of the pagans, to explain the Sign of Jonah in Matthew

Let alone when you look at the kind of resurrection accounts that we have. Because it's not just like there are a few disciples in one place and they just happened to see Jesus once and then they run away and tell everyone about it. But no, these are multiple appearances in different locations, different groups of people. Yeah Miracle Sunday was just the day that he officially woke up. Yeah. At that point, he was five or six days in a coma. He was you know he was still we still didn't know doctors were basically swearing by brain damage. I mean they were they were just like it's for sure you know like he even if he wakes up, he's gonna be in a vegetative state.

All that are in the graves shall hear His voice, and shall come forth: they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation (John ). When men are raised, not all will be raised at the same time nor in the same condition.

Have you ever thought about that?Well, as a rule, when we come through the Book of Acts I like to bring my classes all the way over to Chapter 7, and remember this is just an overview to bring us up to Saul of Tarsus and the out-calling of the Church which is the next part of resurrection.
